Inspirational game on Steam
« on: January 30, 2013, 01:30:23 AM »
I just noticed Steam has 50% off on a game called Deadlight. This comes down to €6.
Seems to be some kind of side-scrolling platformer with a post apocalyptic zombie story, and it looks good too!
This was enough to tickle my fancy...  lol

Youtube have some clips of the gameplay:

The forum seems to wanna embed this, sorry about that...
Offer ends on Thursday 4 pm pacific time (if my memory doesn't fail me...).

Great little game. Combination obstacle course and slaying zeds. All I've got is a .38 at the mo, but I imagine the 'fighting' portion will increase as I find more weapons and close in on the people who ambushed/kidnapped my amigos.

Shows what can be done in a simple format with dash of creativity.

Definitely worth the download at that price. I love the presentation and art direction. I just wish that Randall could swim!

Looks cool, but probably a pain in the butt to play without a controller.

I'm doing OK on my PC. The 'race against time/threats' portions require a couple attempts to get every jump/crouch/roll just right, but it's still a fast, fun break from work.

I'm actually thinking about buying an xbox 360 controller.
I'm used to gaming with mouse and keyboard, since that's what I grew up using.
I couldn't kill anything with a controller if playing an FPS like BF3 or BC2, but a platformer like this deserves something else.  :D

I've pledged for some games on Kickstarter that would make excellent use of an xbox 360 controller with its optional analog sticks;
Carmageddon Reincarnation, Elite Dangerous and Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams.  8)
