Trumpeter Salute 2013 - April 5,6,7 - Vancouver, BC
« on: 27 February 2013, 06:40:37 AM »
Trumpeter Salute 2013 is about six weeks off now, so I figured it was time to start a thread here and see what sort of LAF presence we were going to have!

My brother (who posts here as Burgundavia) and I will both be coming over from Victoria with at least one other local gamer. I've already signed up to run a Russian Civil War 28mm game, and am preparing a couple of neat projects to grace that board. Corey may be running his pulp racing homebrew rules, which are fast, goofy and good fun.

We've had a varied but good turnout of LAFdom in previous years, so who else is going to be there?

I will be coming over to Vancouver in mid July to visit the in-laws; don’t suppose you could delay Trumpeter Salute 2013 until then could you? Please.

Worth a try. :'(

Been over a number of times, fantastic place.

Hope the show goes well.

Trumpeter has been in April a long time, so delaying it for you is probably not in the cards! Sorry! (This is actually the show's 40th year, if you can believe it!)

Saturday at 2pm:

Back. Tired. Great convention, awesome to see all the folks I only really see at Trumpeter who've become friends over the last few years.

Took a load of photos; my brother took more (and has a better camera), and a good friend who also has a good camera took some great pics. Haven't even properly looked at my own pics yet.

Good haul of loot. Bob Murch of Pulp Figures was there, and I made my ritual offering at the Altar of Pulp for shiny new figures I'm excited to paint. Also got some grass tuft bits and the Field of Glory: Renaissance rulebook, which I've been meaning to pick up for ages.

Photos and such on the blog tomorrow evening sometime, badly need to catch up on sleep tonight before work tomorrow!

I've done an illustrated post-convention report over on my blog: http://www.warbard.ca/2013/04/08/trumpeter-salute-2013-after-action-report/

...and all twenty photos in my Flickr account: http://www.flickr.com/photos/wirelizard/sets/72157633202763114/

It was a great show, although for some reason the organizers put a set of tables in one of the breakout rooms across the hall when there were always empty tables in the main room. It made it look curiously empty compared to previous years.

I'll probably do a swag report on the blog later this week; Pulp Figures was there, and I dropped a fair bit of change at the big booth run by the main Vancouver-area hobby store, Imperial.

My brother and a Vancouver-area friend both own better cameras than mine, so I'll try to persuade them to get organized and get photos up online to share as well.
