First Post, first HF Mini
« on: 06 March 2013, 12:25:10 PM »
Hi there,

little Alyx is my first HF Mini that I have got finished. She´s going into a family group (The Campbells) when I finally get my city board up and running. Plan is to have about 6-7 groups that I can choose from when gaming. Every survivor will have there own background.

Alyx Campbell – 9 year old School girl, a bit of a wild child, has taken to Zombie killing as a duck does to water. She is worried, that since losing her “Pooh” bear, she is no longer invisible. And if anything goes wrong is prone to panic and freezes up.
Greatest wish: After finding “Pooh”, is to have a chainsaw like mummy…

Welcome to the forum man (I'm a newbie too!). Great work on the mini. Hassle free do some really wicked models and adding back story always helps on the motivation front. It's funny, I just started branching out myself and post apoc was my first port of call too!

The only CC I would have is to jazz up that base man. Add some bigger rocks, little tufts of grass, maybe even some double yellows if you see her as being on a road. It would really finish her off!

@ Deadspace1, Thanks!

I have only discovered Hasslefree since leaving the GW world and got bitten by the Zombie/survivor Bug. But you are right, very Fine Minis! There are so many great Minis Out there.....just Surfing this Forum and Findling New ones every Day.

This Place is Inspiration pure!

You are so right with the base  :) This is one Thing that I will have to work on. I have done 7 figs up to now, and they all have this style. I will have to see what they Look like on my Game board.....but I have always hated basing :-[

You hate basing?! What?! I love it man. When you start to experiment more you can get some really cool display pieces to go with your minis. Saying that though, I haven't exactly got any great examples of any of the bases I've done on this forum..... :? Maybe I'll have to rectify that!  :D

There's cool things to be done with bases, that's for sure. You'll find plenty on this forum if you look around.
However, if you're not into creating bases or want an easy way to base lots of figs you can always check out the specialists.
I've ordered bases from Micro Art Studio, Fenris and Antenociti in the past and am very pleased with 'em.

Hey zizi666, there´s so much inspiration on this forum that i´m not going anywhere else, and a mega ton of REALLY great painted figs (and bases).

Here´s numder 2 of the Campbell group.

Ray Smith – 34 years old Film Star, always played the supporting Role (second fiddle) to Bruce. Very fit and loves cricket, his battle cry as The Bat hits a Zombies head is “Howzat”. Ray is secretly in love with Ashlee, that´s why he stayed around so long.
Very secret wish: Nudge nudge, wink wink, say no more.

Looking at the macro photo, I think he needs a bit more love (cause he´s not geting it from Ashlee).

cheers

Which is a good thing considering her age.  o_o
