At first I wasn't sure what to think of the bases, but I don't mind to much, although it seems its not at all a popular thing of interest on here judging by lack of views and comments, so.

Ditto.  Nice to see them spreading into other types of war gaming (and I am an aerial gamer first and foremost) but those bases - despite the possible reason that they are using them to apparently reduce the need for markers - just are so... obtrusive.

I really...really think they need to re-do the bases (and they very well may, considering these may be prototypes).  They should stick to clear bases with simple lines on them (ala Wings of Glory).

Most people I've talked to have simply grinned at the idea of being able to buy some reasonable pre-painted (relatively) cheap ships for the period...for other games basically.
