These figures are quite suitable for the period of 1938.
But only in forage caps. The remaining differences (tabs on the collar) are almost not visible at this scale.
Also figure tommy should be removed - this weapon then too was not in service.
You easily can purchase only those figures or items of equipment (backpack, backpack, or head to forage caps) that you need

Continued earlier deferred work on a set of 28 mm figures - "Soviet assault group."

Includes six figures soldiers Assault engineer-sapper brigade of the Red Army in the Second World War.

The kit consists of the commander of the group, two submachine gunners, with two light machine guners, flamethrower operator.
The figures will be released in the spring 2013.

Hi there!

These are great looking figures. I am very interested in the engineers with body armor. However I think your selection of weapon types is problematic (at least for Bolt Action rules). With 6 figures, 2 of which are LMGs and 1 is a flamethrower, it is not possible to assemble a squad with 2 of these sets. There would be 4 guys devoted to the LMGs and 2 guys devoted to the Flamethrower.

I would really encourage you to create a set wearing body armor that included more sub machine gunners. Perhaps another set of 6 that were just SMG troops and by combining the two it would be possible to field a 10 man squad with 1 LMG & loader, 1 NCO, 1 Flamethrower & assistant and 5 SMG troops. That would be a BA Engineer squad. If you swap the Flamethrower for one of the left over SMG troops, that would be a BA Tank Rider squad.

The new BA Soviet book allows for Russian troops wearing body armor, both engineer squads and tank rider squads. I have one of the Warlord Assault Engineer squads. I would like another squad wearing body armor, but I would not be able to make such a squad out of 2 of the sets you are planning. Buying singles of the SMGs would get very repetitive.

Very much looking forward to these, but I really hope you add more SMG variants to assemble squads.

Thanks for the good wishes you have expressed.
Yes, I know that the structure of sets of figures produced by me for a period of WWII is a little strange. I see a question about changes in the composition of these kits to the standard in the "Studio Siberia" - 12 infantry figures, + separate sets for light and heavy small arms.

The specifics of the Soviet assault engineers had their own characteristics - these units were in combat assault groups. Typically several submachine gunners - professionals: Group Commander, Explosive operator, grenade launcher operator (Panzerfaust), or shooter with ATR, flamethrower, sniper, LMG, HMG. In urban combat such a group was given a heavy tank or self-propelled guns.

In its set figures I want to reflect just such a structure.

Alas, I still can not say when the work will be completed over this set figures. Now all attention is focused on the theme of the "Polish-Bolshevik war."
I will try to finish the work on these figures to mid-summer.
