I'm thinking of using this chap and giving him some reins leading to a steering mechanism of some description in his free hand - he'll stand in the middle of the front compartment.

I like the idea of enlarging the decks and raising up the top howdah - the more Gobbo's hanging off the better  >:D

Any more pics from your pj Scurv?

I have started painting up a few of the archers for my coreheim warband, but I am stuck on what basing scheme to use for them.  Since they are clearly aquatic-type goblins, I was thinking of the Fenris Games lost shores  bases:

I was hoping to use a DS-style base for the goblins, and the only other option I could think of was some sort of swamp-themed base, but I so far have not been able to find a suitable 30mm swamp-themed resin base.  At this point I would prefer pre-made ones to making my own.

Any suggestions?  Think the lost shores bases would work?  I was thinking of tossing in some Fenris Deep Ones to count as squigs in my warband if I go that route...

http://www.fenrisgames.com/shop.html#!/~/product/category=2202456&id=11321575 (search for "FGDBWDS30 - 30mm Woodland Path") in case the link doesn't work. If you mix them and add some of the lost shore bases that probably would work out quite well.
.:edit:.
There's a pic on the site as well, it's just a bit too big to post here.

Be sure to post some pics Scurv!

Right - seem to have been away a while so here's my Turtle Tank with Goblin crew - better late than never!

Thanks again for supplying the turtle Scurv - great mini!

On a more personal note I also need to thank Scurv for very kindly taking my brother and his mate, who are taking a year out travelling round Australia at the moment, under his wing, providing accomodation and other assistance and some excellent nights out I gather! If you ever find yourself in the UK as far North as York I'd be happy to repay the favour mate.  :D

Anyhow - here's a few shots of the Turtle Tank and its new owners -

There's a few conversions although I use the term lightly as I really only repositioned a few legs and arms and swapped a spear head for a ramrod.

The Blowpipe armed Goblin had his arm moved up to make it look more like a telescope in his new role as spotter and Anti-Aircraft gunner!

I need to add some reigns and a bit to connect the turtle's mouth to the axe wielding driver in the middle.

Painting has commenced since I took these pics - we'll see how far I get this weekend. Unfortunately the photo of the latest Goblin set (pictured earlier in this thread) didn't come out well but I have those to finish off too - got as far as base coating them...

So they're becoming quite a little force to be reckoned with, with more releases to look forward to as long as Andy's sale goes well at Four A. If you haven't taken advantage yet of the Mean in Green deal on all three sets of Goblins and the Something Fishy deal on the Sea Demons, I suggest you get over there and get them while they're hot!

VERY COOL! I've been trying to avoid over using that expression, but it seems most appropriate with the War Tortoise & Crew...the swivel guns & crew are my favorite parts to The Beasty. It is a DELIGHTFUL piece & will no doubt look even more so once it's painted. Have FUN!

Thanks Deafnala - fun indeed will be had  :D

Glad you like it Andy and hope the sale is coming along nicely - I'm going to need more crab outriders to go with the Turtle Tank  ;)

And its finished!

I present the Testudo Tank, crewed by the finest Shell Shock Troops of the tribe!

This one was a blast (if a little time consuming!) and almost finishes off one of my little side projects - 4A Goblins.

I got some more of the latest batch of Gobbo's, along with a few from the first couple of releases, to crew Eureka's Turtle tank!

Detail of the driver, forward crewmen and upper gun deck - a few simple conversions lurking in there.

Gobbo gunners and spotters - I had a little fun with the banner too!

Another angle...

... and the rear crew, having a sneaky half!

So just a few more Goblin villagers, shaman and the excellent Crab rider to finish off - until the next release comes out that is!

Don't forget to support Goblin Aid if you can - almost all the Gobbo sculpts are in and nearly ready to be sent for casting!
