How to paint cream coloured clothing

I am looking to paint a set of the Sloppy Jalopy VBCW cricketers and am looking for ideas on how to paint cream clothing rather that the traditional white.  I usually use Foundry triads but they don't seem to have a suitable shade.  Any ideas?

I'd probably be tempted to go with a cream as the first shade, then add cafe au lait shading and white highlights. I find that's sometimes easier with those light shades.

I think it all depends in how "clean" do you want your cream color.

For a "dark" or "dirty", I'll start with a soft chocolate color as a base, and build highlights with cream.

For a "clean, bright" color, I'll start with a cream base, and build highlights adding white to the cream.

I use the canvas triad for exactly this. Start with the mid, then use white as the final highlight sparingly.

Thanks for the tips.  I will go with the Canvas mid to light and see what it comes out like. I also happen to have that so it saves me some money.

I know you're not using GW paints, but I have had decent success with Beastial Brown (or whatever it is called now), Snakebite Brown (ditto), and then Bleached Bone (ditto again), and a final edging with white and/or a thin white glaze.

One note - using super-opaque white like Vallejo's "Foundation White" is actually not the best thing to use as a final highlight in this case.  I now understand why GW's paints are not always so high-pigment.
