Perry Plastic Napoleonics - Eventually!

Actually wondering why they haven't appeared here until now.
There's even another new company going into Napoleonics:

- which potentially could overcome the Perrys, since they stick to the (rather limited) use of 1812-uniforms.
Although, there are already some cracks mourning about the right shouldered musket for the British ranks and other faults. Personally, as I'll use them only for skirmish actions, I'm fine with that.

I saw the big green at Partizan and if it translates to the plastic I can see it giving Perry a good run for their money, price tags not known yet but mixed poses at 52 figures per box looks good for me

Well right shouldered muskets would be used on the march, just not really that practical for the battlefield. Some people just look for something to moan about.

The frizzen is the wrong pattern for the Tower musket though....

I'm not so much concerned as to how the weapon is being carried - I want to know what is being carried! Look at the size of those Victrix muskets!    Looks like a long-barreled Blunderbuss or swivel gun! He can barely get his hand around the stock behind the lock and trigger guard.  'Brown Bess' certainly wasn't that bulky.  Here's some pics showing how slim she was.
Don't like the fellow's mug, either!

But that seems to be a matter of 28mm style and production techniques. Have a look at the oversized bows, spears, hilts or any kind of handweapon in this scale. Even the Perrys are a bit on the bigger side.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not too impressed by the first Victrix greens either. But I'm quite unhappy with Perry's addiction to the 1815 setting - Belgic shakos anyone? - and thankful for any effort to release quality figs (with affordable prizes) for the earlier period.
