Another inhabitant of the lead belt
« on: 14 October 2013, 05:11:53 PM »
Hi folks,

just realised there was an intro section and thought it would be polite to post something up.

I'm a professional game designer and writer and have been painting and playing with toy soldiers since I was very small. I say painting, but in reality I haven't put brush to model for many years... until last night. I've got a whole bunch of skills to (re)learn and LAF looked like a good place to hang about while I did so :)

Having lurked about for a bit and read many of the threads I look forward to joining in with the friendly and helpful people who make this a very comfortable place to be.

All the best

Jake

Welcome aboard, Jake.

It is indeed a very comfortable place to be, so pull up a chair and relax.
I think you will be here for a while.

Thanks Mason. And if I doze off in the big armchair by the fire just give me a nudge.

Welcome to the LAD Jake. It's a great place! You didn't happen to edit a well known gaming magazine a number of years ago by any chance?  :)

Sorry, no need to answer, just being nosey! :D

I did indeed. Well, I did if you mean WD.

More recently, I'm responsible for writing Mars Attacks, Deadzone, DreadBall, Dwarf King's Hold, God of Battles, Project Pandora...

I knew you'd been busy (Mars Attacks, Deadzone, Dreadball) but didn't realise just how busy! I hope you enjoy the LAF.

Welcome to LAF Quirkworthy.

I'm sure you will be a VERY valuable addition to our beloved miniatures forum.

Hope you have a long and merry stay with us.
I know you're too old to play with toy soldiers. So give them to me... NOW!

Well thank you kindly folks.

I've not painted anything in more than a decade so I'm what you might call a bit rusty. However, now I've unlurked it would be rude of me. It to post something, so I'm working on something now.

Thanks again.

I don't know. Are I? Who do I check with?

I showed your post to my wife and she just laughed, so I suspect not  ;)
