Mongrel Miniatures Israeli Paratroops
« on: 21 November 2013, 11:08:16 PM »
Hi, I am posting this for my friend as he is having issues at present trying to join the site.

Does anyone know where it may be possible to pick up some -

Mongrel Miniatures 28mm Israeli Paratroops

Apparently he has tried to contact them direct to no avail, and cannot seem to find any other avenue to purchase some.

Any thoughts or news would be much appreciated.

Cheers, John.

I spoke with guys from Newline Designs at Colours in Newbury this year.

Apparently the bloke who is 'Mongrel' has gone incommunicado and does not respond to emails or phonecalls, and therefore they cannot restock or even buy the moulds (which I think was an option IIRC).

Current stock dwindling, hence a sparse Mongrel section on the ND website.

Try http://badgergames.com/shop/index.php?cPath=1_23_26_27 this is the guy who owns the range, although from what folk have said maybe an email would be a good idea.

Is your mate in Thanet too? If he's up for a game I'm in Ramsgate and I've both some IDF and PLO... all mongrel.

Newline take off/put on to reflect their stock. They were getting occasional resupplies, but they were somewhat erratic. Drop them a mail and they will happily get in touch when they have stock and will even send you pics of the range, so you can plan your purchases in advance.

Their service is excellent... the guy who owns Mongrel, not so much.  ::)

Thanks guys. Some great info and other bits there. I will see my friend tonight, and see what is occurring his end, and get back to those requiring it.

Cheers, John.

I have the Centurion tank and some of the jeeps. I think I have the jeep drivers too. I may also some of the figures, but I will have to dig in the vault. If you're interested in any of the vehicles, let me know by PM.

Hello,

Many thanks to everyone who responed to my request for information on 28mm Mongrel Miniatures Israeli Paratroops, made by ducat on my behalf.  I certainly think the figures produced by Mongrel are very nice indeed, and have quite a few of their British and Russian infantry.  I also have some Syrians painted up, but need their opponents!

Cheers,  Ian

I didn't think Frank had anything to do with his Mongrel lines anymore. I thought he sold them off years ago and gave up being a 'manufacturer' as it was too much hassle.

I'm guessing they mean Ben Checota (or similar) - he's 'mister Mongrel' these days. There is this site (which I think is his, after some rumours about the mogrel figures being sold in 'Badger Minbaitures' packaging or some such) http://badgergames.com/shop/index.php
Never bought from badger, so no idea how reliable they are?
