The Jade Dragon Cup
« on: 30 December 2013, 06:51:10 AM »
Tong vs the Malefactor League

The Pink Lotus Lady and her Tong had attempted to smuggle in an artifact rescued from the British sacking of the Summer Palace, the Jade Dragon Cup. Their attempts were twarted by Professor Moriarty and his Malefactor League, who intercepted the cargo shipment carrying the cup. Curiosly, Moriarty advertised it on the antiquities Black Market for auction at a back streets warehouse. The Tong swept in and prepared to reclaim their treasure from the foolish and greedy Professor Moriarty.

The Tong swept into the warehouse, catching Moriarty's hired thugs by surprise. However, a Tong member spotted Moriarty's lieutenant Jack lurking in the shadows. A quick slash of Jack's scapel blade silenced the Tong, but brought a fellow gang member and the Tong's Yeti into the fray.

From his vantage point in the warehouse loft, Moriarty cursed. Jack was spoiling the plan. The Jade Dragon Cup was supposed to lure the Tong into the warehouse, with the Yeti leading the attack. That way it could be cut off and captured alive. A living Yeti was worth far more than some gaudy oriental cup, no matter what mystical properties it was supposed to have. But Jack's premature attack had drawn the Yeti away from the trap! He set his mistress, Miss Scarlett, to use her rifle to subdue the Tong Musketmen who were sending shots into the warehouse from a nearby rooftop, and ran down to retrieve the cup. He may need to try again another day. However, Jack had managed to evade the Yeti, and the Beast had returned to his mistress. The Pink Lotus Lady and her Lieutenant had overcome his hired goons on the ground floor and with the Yeti they ascended to the storeroom at the same time as Moriarty.

Moriarty fired a shot at them and fled back to the loft, shouting the signal to close the trap.
Having waited quietly, despited the chill sending shivers through his naked body, the Invisible Man put his shoulder to his wagon and pushed it against the warehouse doors, sealing them shut.

Whilst the Yeti and the Pink Lotus Lady chased after Moriarty and Miss Scarlett, Wu Jen made a grap for the Jade Dragon Cup.

Using his mystical power of Dragon flight, he lept from the loading door of the warehouse and landed safely on the wagon below.

Moriarty left Scarlett to fight the Pink Lotus Lady and evaded the Yeti, trying to head downstairs to stop Wu Jen. Pink Lotus slash her nails across Scarlett's chest, who laughed scornfully, preparing to bludgeon the oriental witches skull with the butt of her rifle. But then she saw the green venom dripping from Pink Lotus's nails. Burning agony ripped through her chest and she stumbled and fell to her death down the warehouse stairs.

The Yeti attempted to pursue Moriarty but was stopped by Seamus, the last surving member of Moriarty's hired thugs, his knuckles still bloody from the Tong member he had beaten to death downstairs.

Seamus managed to hold the Yeti and Pink Lotus trapped upstairs while reinforcements arrived.
Realising they were trapped, Pink Lady leapt from the loading doors, but landed badly, knocking herself unconscious. The Yeti followed, surviving the fall.

Only to be set upon by Jack!

Jacks blade whirled in under the Yeti's defences, slashing its hamstrings to bring it down. But the psychotic Jack kept at it, despite Moriarty's protesting shouts, killing the great beast and the object of the mission.

Pink Lotus was dragged away by her Tong, and joined Wu Jen withthe prized Jade Dragon Cup!

The Invisible Man, clothed once more!

Riveting!

I'll admit, I momentarily took the title to be 'a race'; in a sense, it was, at several points, just not the kind I first envisioned.

Look forward to trying a conversion to IHMN; alas, my Dragon Lady is decidedly NOT pink.  :)

I shall also cogitate on that first version 'cup' I thought of. Do like the thought of an old RT-style 'death race'.  >:D

Yeah they are meant to be buckskin. I started painting them white, but that looked silly for some reason ( as though he was going to reach up into the hat and
pull a rabbit out to replace his head), so i repainted them as leather. On reflection pale grey might have worked better.
