Quick question
« on: 15 January 2014, 11:08:59 AM »
In the SA rulebook, it is stated that skills gained by Treshold adds +1 BASE point per skill (Thus limiting the points that can be used on additional characters). Is that correct?

If so, we have been calculating wrongly up 'til now, but as we have never yet played a team at the full 15 points, the team has not been too large, anyway....
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

That is correct.

Additional skills learned add +1 BASE point to that particular models cost.

When it comes to re-equipping, you can only do so if your Base Point total goes below 15 due to the death of any team members.

In theory this means that your Character can end up being worth 15 BASE points alone (starting cost of 5 and 10 skills learned).

Hope that makes sense.

Can't you re-equip EACH time a team member dies? Otherwise, if you don't spend all your Base Points each time, you'll never be able to re-equip? The rules say you CAN, not you MUST, re-equip up to 15 Base Points.

Of course, the Base Points total also somehow goes below 15 if it goes from, say 12 to 10...  :)

You can re-equip each time a team member dies, as long as your remaining BASE points are then below 15.

Thanks, found it in the FAQ in Shocking Tales, too. In MOST cases it will be, although there's a couple of instances that may bring your Base Points over 15.

You can develop to the point of going over 15 with skills gained due to experience or added bonuses in certain types of games (like gaining new members in a Black Dossier etc..) like extra team members etc.
I will have to read that section again to see what else can happen....

I learnt something new regarding hand to hand combat whilst reading that FAQ again the other day.
We had been doing something wrong for some time.... ::)
Always something new to learn.

I may have to run it through, then - I plan to get a game or two staged for the weekend... Spent so,e time on the couch re-equipping my primary Treshold team from a bad defeat 1½ year ago (I fell sick this morning and have been at home all day), now having to make a 39 pts Lurker list. Ghosts and zombies, I think...  >:D

I'm still waiting for my ST3 and the compendium-thingy to arrive, but I haven't tried out the rules for ghosts, yet...

Oooh!

39 points of Lurkers.
Lovely!
 :D

It has been some time since I used over 30pts a side.
Brutal.

I have not used any Ghosts yet either, but that will change sooner or later.

I have the limited clear green resin ones, so I only have too base them, and Bob's your uncle!

Lucky boy!

I am thinking of getting some Bones ghosts or similar to make life easier, although I do have some that I painted for Mordheim that see service in SA at times.

6 clear green resin minis; 2 banshees, 1 H.P., and 3 'ethereal zombies'.
