Stagecoach, wagons etc. in 28mm??
« on: 07 November 2013, 09:59:10 PM »
All,
I have an Ertl Stagecoach and a coupe Ertl buggies, but they really look too small.  I know I don't have the patience to build fiddly laser cut models.  What else is out there?

In my eyes the best of the best are the Dixon Miniatures stagecoach and wagons. They have a great selection of Wagons, with or without covers, buckboards etc.

Blue moon Waggons Ho range do some nice stuff, made from resin which is reasonably easy to assemble

Peddlers wagon

Hearse

The Dixon stagecoach is nice.. But I would say it is fiddly

While I haven't gone hands on with the Sarissa coaches etc.  I have not found an MDF wagon that was more difficult to deal with than the frustrating all-metal wagons I've dealt with in the past!  Metal-on-metal models might be my absolute least favorite product in all of gaming.   :`

The Sarissa Stage Coach turned out to be real easy to stick together. The only patience I needed was waiting for glue to dry sufficiently between stages. I too hate gluing large metal on metal miniatures and would hate trying to put together a similarly pieced coach from metal.

The Pencil Sharpeners arrived  two Conestoga Wagons, a Stage Coach, a Flat Bed Wagon and a Surrey.  All look great and pretty much in scale with 28mm figures.  I expect that the Conestoga Wagons should be a little bigger, but they seem fine.  The only one that is slightly off, is the Surrey.  The wagon base and attached horse are perfect, but the body of the Surrey itself is big.  I may pull it off and make one from scratch.  All in all money well spent.

Would you be so kind as to post a pictore with a 28mm fig next to your wagons so we can get an idea of scale? Thanks
