Barony Corragh

*****

Lord Skragge walked through the small village with Denevar, his captain of arms discussing the orc threat.
-It seems, Denevar, as a raiding party is over us again. The peasants have lost livestock and some of the outlying farms have been raided. No real casualities yet but some of the peasants have been wounded. Unfortunatly I have no idea how many of orcs there are. But it seems as if the orcs have splitted up into three groups.
I will take Borkin and 5 of the men to hunt them down. But I can´t leave the village and watchtower unguarded.
I will leave  the defence to you my friend. Keep the reamining Men-at-arms and the guards and keep our homes safe from the orc menace.
-You can count on me, my Lord. As long as I am alive the orcs will meet only death here.

What has happened before?

I got some time ahead of me free from school, jobs and whatever so I decided to take this up again. I plan on three small skirmish games to see what happens in the story and to get some easy campaign rules going. The gaming rules will be Fantasy Warriors adapted for skirmish games.

As I said, I plan on three small games but for every game I play I will also have to roll a dice to see if the orc raiders choose to attack the village. That will mean a bigger game where buildings might be lost and gold might be pillaged.

As for campaign it will focus on Lord Skragges evolution and his holdings evolution. He start with a watchtower and a small village. This means quite few men and not so good weapons and armour.
Each battle played means a round goes by and gold might be used to upgrade buildings or buy new ones. Lost battles means men die or are wounded and perhaps loss of gold.

The campaign of Lord Skragge will end when he can put three small troops on the table, meaning he as amassed what the baron demands of him preluding the Barons invasion of the fertile lands. Wich is the first goal of a larger campaign.

Buildings I plan to make incorporate into the campaing

Bowyer: Upgrades the archers bows to longbows.
Smith: Possible to upgrade armor to medium (chainmail etc)
Small Keep: 10 men-at-arms, banner, musician

Will follow this with interest. However, you know what happens when an extra says "as long as I'm alive", right? :)
