Painted Hasslefree Mystic Warrior and a Space Marine
« on: 19 January 2014, 10:22:07 PM »
Mystic Warrior child painted in a likeness of my daughter for my wife as a present.

Sorry for the poor photos - I took them on my new phone as an experiment whilst waiting for parts for my camera.

And a space marine. This one was painted a couple of years ago. I have the start of an army painted in this scheme (I will put up photos in due course) but this particular one was again for my wife, hence the pug and the fankly nonsensical weapon combination (I was getting rid of parts that would otherwise never be used!). The pug is by Reaper.

The marks on the armour were supposed to be scratches and damage though they are so big they look like a camo scheme. I have improved since this one was painted, though I still think it looks ok, though not quite as intended!

Thanks - normally I don't paint eyes so that was my first attempt. I hope to keep improving, slowly!

The jedi girl is very nice. I like the Space Marine too. Covering up the iconography with pouches was a good touch.

Thanks. The Jedi girl is tiny - quite difficult to paint! My wife is a big princess Leia fan.

I wanted it to be clear the marine is still a marine - you can partly see the chest eagle - but armour painted in camo for an operation - like they used to in Rogue Trader. Plus marines look better in camo in my opinion (though I do have a few ultramarines squads painted in super bright 2nd edition style which I am currently refitting).
