Red Box Games Norse Warriors Kickstarter
« on: 09 January 2014, 07:22:12 PM »
Tre has launched a new Kickstarter to finance production of his Norse,
it's just 6 mini's, and sculpting and masters are done
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1103158358/red-box-games-norse-warrior-miniatures

I would back it myself, they're certainly great minis but money is tight this month, but Tre certainly deserves all your support,
as you can read here:

I have a number of the Norse minis from Tre's range that I bought a few years ago. Really great figures, a little on the delicate side in weapon sizes if you're coming from GW. So much personality! They worked very well for a Norse-themed D&D campaign, and I've always wanted more of them.

Just went in with the $42 pledge for all six models. Tre had problems with his first (2012) KS, but this was largely due to the casters and the material they were using (a resin hybrid). He is still working hard to fulfil pledges from that KS, although i appreciate the chargrin of those still awaiting models. He has since returned to metal (yay!) and is getting RBG back on-track. As the blub on this KS says:

Quote
The sculpting for these figures is done, the resin mastering for these figures is also done, All that is left to do now is to produce the spin cast molds that will be used to cast the the metal copies and to then cast those copies in sufficient quantity to satisfy demand, this process usually only requires about a month to complete.

I hope it all works out for him! I got burned by KS one, and sold it off, but the man has some talent!

I just hope some day he sculpts some bigger minis, without the tiny heads!

I'd agree, but I guess the more realistic 25-28mm scale is his thing. Ah well, like Hasslefree, I can still use a few of his women minis from time to time.

Cool. I still don't have my orcs yet. But I'm not too worried about that. Don't think I'll pledge this time around. Humans aren't really my thing lol

Very tempted. I can see those doing a Thirteenth Warrior type scenario vs orcs.

Right - need to use my Swiss account so Mrs Muncehead does not see. :D
Have fun storming the castle! ...and that really isn't me you know...

Gothic Project: leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=55943.0 - although on pause atm as too much RL stuff getting in the way.

I bought most of his Njorns a couple of years back and they are superb models. The 'small head' thing is because they are sculpted in more realistic proportions with the ultra-muscled bodies looking larger by comparison.

They are certainly not your run-of-the-mill models - as the price tag suggests - but I for one will be saving up my coppers to see if I can get these new fellas.

I uses Tre´s lovely miniatures mixed in with historical miniatures in my Treemoss fantasy project (http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=28923.0) and they suits me far better then most other fantasy ranges that I know of.

Im seriously considering getting these to mix with my Vikings, to get that extra layer of fantasy wibes of the historical units.  :D.

Right, I'm officially 'in' with this one - no way I was going to miss it. March is the projected delivery date, but I'm in no hurry.

I'm in too. Just for one mini as I've wanted to check out the Red Box range anyway, this was the excuse. It will be hard to choose which one to get though.

These warriors look truly excellent, great detail and poses. I'm glad that the Kickstarter had met it's funcing goal and then some. I hope the creator can make many more of such wonderful figures.
