Frost Wrym , can you tell the difference
« on: 30 January 2014, 11:26:34 PM »
Here are some reaper frost wrym painted up. Bought through the Bones kickstarter, Then latter bought some metals cheaper than the Bones . Can you tell in the picture which one is the Bones and Metal.  Since I had 12 of them also decided to paint some up in a dessert color scheme. Cousin to the frosty north.   Also did not do them with winter bases as I hate the look.  Consider them on the one barren patch in the frosty north.

Which one is the Bones Left or Right.

I'd guess Bones on the right as well.

Never thought I'd see so many of these things at once :)
Cool figure, he's one of the figs that snagged my interest in the KS.

Also, I like the desert look, I was planning on painting mine something similar.
a mixture of quick parts, sarcastic humour, reserve, and caprice.

I'd have assumed they were all Bones considering the sheer number of them :)

Had you not mentioned it I certainly wouldn't have tried to discover a difference.

Bones is great for these bigger critters. Little things like kobalds...not so much.

I would have guessed Bones on the right (at a glance in the first picture the detail looks softer).  Nice figure though, is this one available or a KS only?  I am starting a collection of dungeon beasties and this one looks a treat.

On a first glance it is hard to tell, but examining the miniature closer the slightly softer details will show. However, for the Kickstarter prize and the quality of most miniatures I am extremly happy with the Bones line. Some did not transalte well at all into the material, but as you guys said, the big monster, but also some of the heroes really stand out to me as excellent miniatures, better than some metals and surely cheaper.
