Well, last weekend we had our local gaming convention and INEPTT (International Extraterrestrial Paranormal Tactica Team) was a great success. Had about 15 participants in total and they all had a great time. I was unable to make it due to work committments but two of my wargaming group members ran it. So unfortunately I don't have pics but will give a bit of a run down.
They ran two basic missions. One was a Genre 3 Mission (1960 to 2020), where a Scientist was putting bad stuff into the water to create zombies. INEPTT had to go in and extract the scientist (alive) at which point the town could be "neutralized". The trick here was that Alien grays were controlling the scientist and this was not known by INEPTT and caused more than a little bit of a problem for the INEPTT teams. Three of these types of scenarios were run with INEPTT being entirely successful.
The second mission was a Genre 2 Mission (1930 - 1960) based in WWII where a chemical weapon was detonated by accident causing a zombie horde to be created. INEPTT was sent in to find out what happened and try and retrieve some of the remains of the weapon for research. Two of these missions were run and again the INEPTT teams were successful.
Here are some of the comments that were noted by my two friends that ran the games, some of the quotes I took from emails I received post convention:
"Wow, that was very cool, I like how quickly the game plays but it has a lot of depth!"
"Its cool how there are a few types of Zombies, makes it a bigger tactical problem that just killing off a horde" - Steve ??
"It was easy to build the team and I like the variety of skills and abilities you can choose from - my all girl team kicked azz!" - Lynda
"I bought the rules after I skimmed through them, then I played the game. This set will go over well with my club in Burnaby"
"If this is the core, I can't wait to see the Mission books. I was a bit disappointed that the Genre one is not well covered, meaning no tanks or armoured cars, but I am hoping Shawn puts in at least the Indianna Jones heavy tank into the first Mission book. That is the only thing it was missing." Levis
"That felt like playing XCOM in miniature!"
"Ok, wanna see those Mission books - I bought the pdf last night!"
I also want to take this opportunity to thanks some of our great supporting manufacturers out there for their support for the game (I received a lot of great donatation to give away as prizes to the participants) - Demolasercut, Empress Miniatures, Eureka Miniatures, Gripping Beast Miniatures, 4 Ground, Pulp Miniatures, Reaper Miniatures and Studio Miniatures.
Thanks also to Dale and Jeremy for running the show and making it a huge success, and to all the participants - glad you had fun. If they took pics I will post up when I get a moment.
