Deathjester25 builds a battlefield
« on: 03 March 2014, 02:20:52 AM »
Since I just built a 8x4 gaming table I figured I'd start working on some scenery while I wait for my Zuzzy mat to arrive. Since I plan on running some Mordheim empire in flames games this some I decided to start with some trees and hedges. Here are the first 3 trees I've made.

Just finished up painting banks and adding grass to my pegasus hobbies river. Pretty happy with the result. So as of now this is the whole set up

Looks good.  Are the edges of the tree/hedge bases black?  I think maybe colour matching them to the zuzzy mat would fit in a bit nicer.  In the pics the bases look really dark (almost black/grey) compared to the lovely work you did on the mat.  May just be the photos though!  Looks like a lovely table so far.  I'd be happy to march an army across it.  The Pegasus river sections look great too!

Yeah i have a habit of painting edges of everything black. I think thats why they look so dark in the pics. I may go over them in brown when i get a chance.

Hah, I noticed that after I went back and saw your figures.  I, on the flip side, have a habit of detesting black edged bases...so...that's probably why I picked them out immediately!  lol  If it matches the rest of your stuff, rock on!

I have the PA Zussy mat, it's fantastic.  Are the river sections plastic or resin?

They are a kind of a soft plastic. They look kind of toy like straight out of the box but look alot better now. They lock together very tight too.
