found a gallery dedicated to the unit
http://www.1dfl.fr/decouvrez-ses-unites/13e-dble/phototh%C3%A8que-13-dble/
a lot of pictures, mostly parades and R&R of course

starting with Cameroon 1940 they always wear shorts and british shirts, mixed gear, and the wolseley toppee until after Syria
then tin hats and sometimes the beret, mostly the white kepi
starting with Italy it is long pants and they all wear the British style tan beret. the kepi disappears
I do not see british rifles....

as your contributions pointed out mostly

So my idea to use the commandos and SAS is not that bad I guess

Thats good for you as you get to paint those Artizan Brits! They are really nice figures, probably the most characterful of the whole line.
Question on the vehicle. Is that a sahariana? Who made it?

it's a sahariana in 1/43, diecast
not exactly sure who made it since it popped up in different collector series. it is rare in the original livery, but pops up often and cheap in Italy, check on ebay for a while

I am looking at a project with a good sculptor friend of mine to produce a range of WW2 niche figures, first being FFL, north Africa. They we would be metal, clean anatomically and in 28mm and 20mm.

Did you see my post of the FFL conversions?

We are thinking of Kickstarter to get 3-4 inf packs and some support/command/ weapons going.

Do you and other LAF members think this would have promise?

the 20mm conversions?
yeah, very good.

well, with the perry miniatures desert rat range, something of similar style to complement can't be wrong.
I can't judge how it sells though. From what I've seen, it is all about how You make the KS. Good luck, I'm interested.

small idea: I get the feeling some french people might be interested, so better translate the advertising to french and have some friends plugging it on french forums
