Those paddle-like sticks that are used to "stuff" the cannon barrel could be stuck next to the cannon in need of reloading somehow.

Technically speaking we can make as many as we need. The GS mould should be good for a while! I'll try it today now that its cured! Do you have silicon?

Not used it for ages. Not sure if it is still good to use.

Might be worth trying anyway! ....or maybe just the stuff you pour into the moulds?(resin?). The GS mould made the sharp edges a bit....dull!

The GS mould....

I use ammo boxes mounted on 1p coins to indicate units or men low on ammunition or reloading - readily available from Redoubt, Warlord, Empress etc.

I bought some plastic counters from Warbases who will inscribe anything on them for you.  I used some for my Dead man's Chest Pirate rules.  I had Courage, Flee, Stunned etc in different colours.  I will post a pic later if you want.

Irregular Miniatures do neat, stacked piles of cannon balls (already on a small base) in their Pirates figures range - any use ?

In my pirate games I use 20mm round plywood bases (from Fenris) with printed bullets glued on them as ammo counters.

I like to declare loaded weapons, by the way, so that you must spend an ammo counter as opposed to marking required reload actions. I like how that symbolizes spending your bullets.
