TNMT Monopoly
« on: May 07, 2014, 01:16:34 AM »
I saw in a magazine that a friend's child left laying around, that there is a TNMT version of Monopoly, which is, honestly, not at all surprising. Turns out though, the game comes with six pewter figures, like so:

Now, I'm not expert, but assuming that the die in that shot is standard size (about 10mm), then the figures may be almost perfect for gaming. The quality looks a little poor but perhaps something can be got out of them with a little work.

Thoughts?

Nice find.

I think they'd do for playing monopoly or other boardgames, but I don't think I'd paint them.

I'm about 90% of the way to convincing myself to have them sculpted for personal use only.  TMNT is really responsible for my love of comics and gaming in general.

You didn't get the turtles that Greebo had in their indiegogo a bit back?

I considered buying those, but I didn't really like them enough to pay what they were asking. The Dark Horse turtles are hard to find, and expensive. I imagine the TMNT monopoly is old enough it might be tougher to find too. :(

Nicely spotted minifad, I'll keep an eye out and keep saving my pennies for some custom greens.

I'd be happy with cartoon turtles. I'm hoping the 3d printer I bought (should arrive in July) will be able to print high enough detail that I can 3d model my own and print them though. That's the plan, but I doubt it'll work.

If someone has this game I'd love to see you take a stab at painting one of the figures and see how it turns out!

Well for those interested:

Post your results from your 3d prints. I am super interested in getting one, even if its only for terrain since the cheapest models may not be up for miniature model 28mm yet.

Yes obsidian3d, you should definitely let us know how that goes.

And if it works out well, you should respect Nickelodian's IP and not (wink) privately sell copies to people through LAF (wink), that would be wrong (wink).
