I bought most of my GWM figures at a show .They came in grey blisters and some of the rifles were indeed bent but not to such a degree they couldn't be straightened out easily.

Long nosed pliers with a foam insert can do wonders....

On the condition of GWM miniatures - same goes for Perry. I guess it's the same caster.

Just received today an order of Perry "Sudan" sailors: identical codes in both card boxes and clamshell blisters.  The figures in blisters have definitely suffered more bending of bayonets, as they are free to move.

A foam insert as in traditional blisters would surely reduce movement and hopefully damage.  I never throw away the foam pads, but recycle them for packing***, so it's not an environmental issue for me.  But I wonder:  is there a "green" equivalent for that sort of foam sheet, in the same way there are now biodegradable foam "peanuts" for packing?

***You can accumulate a startling quantity of foam bits over thirty years of figure collecting...

Last year I received some small electronic parts in a clamshell blister that had been packed with seaweed pads. They were oftly dry and left quite a bit of dust behind, but seemed to work OK.

I wonder if you could chop them up and add them to a bowl of miso soup...
