Lifecolor Flesh paint set

I have been attempting to use the above paint set and the results have been horrible.  I've been following the directions on the box and looking at some other blog posts about it and the results are awful.  Does anyone have any experience with using this paint set and if so, can you shed some light on how to use it or direct me to a good blog post or video tutorial?
