I went on to eBay to have a look at these Universal Hobbies 1/43 tractors. I bought this one and I'm quite pleased with it. Might have to get some more!   Probably rather useful for VBCW as well.

I found a slightly different one from the same series, but quite similar, that I think I will get instead as I like it even better.



I like that these sorts of things can serve as either farm implement, construction tool (with a simple bulldozer blade fabricated to fit), or artillery tractor.

As for uses, it's a versatile thing - farms, construction sites, artillery towing, tank recovery, etc. - so I expect it will pop up here or there as scenic dressing.

I do like that steam tractor. That has a lot of potential. Definitely needs to be driven by a mad inventor!
