Car Wars car and looking for a suggestion

Even though I havent played Car Wars since I was a kid, Ive been wanting to crack open a hot wheels car and give it a conversion for a long time now.

Here is the progression

Thanks for looking!  But, im also looking for a suggestion.  I remember a 'device' from long ago in Car Wars called the 'Broadsides' or something similar.  If I remember right, it was three shotguns on each side of the car.  (I remember, because Ive thought many times how that would come in handy in every day life!!!!)

Any ideas for what I could use as built in shotguns, blasters, etc at this scale?  Ive thought about scratch building something but A) Im terrible at scratch building stuff and B) I dont really even have any ideas for THAT either!!!

they're all scratch built apart from the one that started life as a transformer ,that was just dirtied up.
