Toussaint Louverture ... who? ... exactly.

This guy is sometimes known as the 'Black Napoleon' and was a very successful general (and leading figure) during Haiti's fight for independence at the turn of the 18th/19th centuries. This resin model will be Wargames Illustrated's free model at Salute 2015, April 25th, so I thought you'd like to have a cheeky peak at the fella ahead of time.

How cool is that! I'm just starting a Haitian revolution project and busily painting up figures. However, I'm doing it in 15mm.
Still I'd love to get the figure, unfortunately won't make it to Salute though. Do you think it will be available directly via WI?
Cheers

Who can tell sir, you can but ask I suppose. I'm just a brush monkey, the organ grinders don't tell me how it all works.

I've got a book about this guy, I must get around to reading it someday.

You do wield your brush like Dr Zaius! Let's see if I can find out, otherwise I'll ask some nice folks going to Salute if they can get one for me...

I did a quick Google when I got the model and he seems to have been a remarkably astute diplomat as well as a shrewd general - not just in a patronising 'as a freed slave' kind of way, but in a way that would be comparable with any man of the age.

"Night Of Fire: The Black Napoleon And The Battle For Haiti" perchance? One of my favourite reads.
