The latest Green ffom Steve Barbers Models, Steve has worked wonders  with this latest figure. The miniature is wearing the traditional fur cloak and representative of a Southern Albanian Klepht

This GWI range is one of the most inspirational there has been in years. Love 'em.

Thank you Christopher, on behalf of Athanassios and myself ...the project began with the need for a couple of figs and now has taken over with plans that run into the next two years funds permitting. Many of the Ottomans can be used for the late 18thC - the Egyptian conflict in the 1830s, they make ideal opponents for Westfalia Miniatures Persians. The majority of the Greeks can be used for the earlier Napoleonic conflicts within The Greek Islands. Equally many of the Irregular Greeks can be used as Albanians.
A great deal of thought goes into all the sculpts to make them as historically accurate as we can but at the same time providing the ability for many to be painted as alternatives.
Many have asked both myself and my compatriot in Greece to consider additions to the range if we feel the fig is compatible with our own projects we will try and incorporate these.
The figures admirably suit skirmish gaming using a system such as Sharpe Practice or The Sword and The Flame where you can develop an ongoing campaign or storyline.

Could he be used for a Eperiot from Southern Albania .

Shipka, I was very impressed by the Balkan tribesmen/irregulars as seen in Osprey's later Ottoman Army book, so a range drawn from that period/region would definitely be on my list, as would the Turkish Nizam regiments and Maghribi troops. I have a long standing urge to pit them against the Napoleonic Spanish...and even more outlandish opponents.

A Turkish guard infantryman is already in production but as yet not featured on Steves web page .. I would urge a word of caution on relying on the illustrations in the Osprey you mentioned but that is only my opinion. I will consider your suggestions.

Thanks! And if you can point me in the direction of other resources about the various Balkan militaries of the era I'd appreciate it: right now Osprey's my only source.
