My pictures from this years Sheffield Triples show can be seen here.

It was a great show with lots of traders and games. I thought the games were of a high standard this year and my favourites were:

I thought attendances were well down this year the worst in 25 years of attending. Lots of traders missing to which meant traders were spread out and very few participation and demo games. (On the Sunday there were 3 less Demo games as shown by empty tables).

No Lance and Longbow and no Society of Ancients. Bring & Buy was the worst I had ever seen it. Loads of empty tables and no queuing booking in and no hordes around the tables!

There used to be over 200 people in the competitions this year only about 30 in 2 comps!

Spoke to a lot of traders who said it was dire and many thinking of dropping it next year.

Apparently organisers had a quote from the Magners Centre (where they hold Comic Con) at a much lower price and offered to hold it in March too. Then went back to Sports Centre and got them to drop the price and agree to a future March move.

Unless they can buck the trend they will have very few traders left in future.

I have never missed a Triples ever and have to say  it was strangely empty Saturday, no atmosphere the display games seemed thin and people trying hard the traders all looked worried. the time of the show perhaps the parking which is dire and the cost £6 2 day ticket  most go one day and we got nothing else but a ticket?

I think  the people at the  centre do not like wargamers   have no intention of  doing that either, many times proved right by there staff who are dismissive and   confrontational to a point of  absurdity. the Shows organisers  do there best I know but  it was the worst show  there i have ever been in 30+ years.

Thank you for the pictures as always,  perhaps just a bad weekend?

Lovely to catch up with everyone, but it was the worst two days trading l've experienced - down 70 per cent on the previous year. Simply, there just didn't seem to be the people through the doors. Saturday was quiet and Sunday was tumbleweed territory. Might be better as a single day, but will have to think hard about attending next year :(
