What's all this, please?
« on: June 12, 2015, 06:19:29 AM »
So, this stuff was coming out the bottom of my Army Painter can.

It seems to be some kind of glue (or the can has got pollen allergy). Has anyone had this happening to their cans? Has it gone bust, or do you figure it's still safe to use?

First time I see something like that, but as there are bubbles, I'd say that the can has somehow started leaking. Probably along the seam between the tube and the bottom parts of the can. Most likely, that seam is sealed in some way with some adhesive/sealant, which has come out along with the propellant gas.

I'd expect that it would not be too unsafe to use the can, as pressing the nozzle will only decrease the pressure on the leak. But then again, I'd also expect the propellant gas to have escaped altogether, so there'll be woefully little paint coming out the nozzle. Still; to be on the safe side, I'd avoid using it altogether.

At any rate: I suggest you bring it back to where ever you bought it and request a replacement or refund, because that is clearly not supposed to happen...

You've got a leak. Use up the spray quickly or get a refund.

Thanks a bunch, fellers. I understood it was a leak, just didn't know what to do.

The store where I got is no longer with us unfortunately, so I guess I gotta get assembling. Cheers!

Why not contact Army Painter about this instead? Looks to me that it could easily be a production error, especially since the can does not seem to be dented.

If they even have half a decent customer service, they'd probably send you a replacement can...

Had this once years ago with 2 spray tins from a different trademark, they were older ones. Leak, right. Use it up, be careful.
best wishes
