First figures for my Peninsular War project are done
« on: 23 June 2015, 12:14:55 PM »
Hi guys,

I've recently finished the first figures for my Peninsular War project. I'm actually quite happy with how they turned out.

Blog post (why voltigeurs?) and close ups here: http://olicanalad.blogspot.co.uk/2015/06/first-napoleonic-stuff-painted-french.html

I hope you like them too.

Great stuff, lovely brushwork. ;D I think the Front Rank Napoleonic range is very under rated.

Thanks, guys.

Very nice indeed.
What size game are you going for?

I've initially bought about twelve hundred figures based around a core of thirty six 24 man battalions of infantry, each side currently also has four cavalry and three artillery units plus extra skirmishers (like above). These are the skirmishing stands for six French battalions. I will add another 20 or so units to this initial purchase, but that will be sometime in the future - I've run out of pennies.

Game size, when everything is done will be one to three divisions a side. My table is 15 x 6, so that kinda limits things.
