Ethiopian Imperial Guard...1935
« on: 16 July 2015, 01:11:28 PM »
Gents,

Just finished up a few figures for Haile Selassie to field against Benny's boys...Abyssinia 1935-36...

Figures are Askari minis. Nice crisp castings that came up a treat I think...

Here are a few pics for your viewing pleasure...

Cheers

Happy W

Coloration of the Imperial Guard uniform ranges from green/olive-khaki mid-tone to quite light depending on the pictures you see. I read somewhere they used Japanese cloth but also Belgian cloth as well...I think it's meant to be darker but the lighter greenish colour looks good to....anyway, they came up rather well...

Flag is temporary...very temporary. Hope to get a much better commercial one...

..some Blackshirt mortars to ruin the Kebur Zabanga's day....

They look great! Ace scenery too.

nice  ;)
Dans les situations critiques, quand on parle avec un calibre bien en pogne, personne ne conteste plus. Y'a des statistiques là-dessus.

Thanks guys,

Yes I'll surely be adding to them.

Looking at the pics they came out with a distinct green hue...they actually are a little more brown in colour than the pics suggest that. I think the lens got a hold of the greenery around them and somehow that effected the final photos...weird.

Here's a pre flocked shot that shows them being a touch browner.

Probably  the only down side for these figures IMHO is that the single pack with four poses, one of which is running, makes a platoon of them look a little bit 'same-ish'. One extra code of Guardsmen would be a really good addition to the Askari minis line.
