Yes, I used a pen for the very darkest lines on the shield. It speeds up the process considerably. I've been experimenting a bit with pens on miniatures recently. I remember that the painting articles by John Blanche and Aly Morrison that I read in my misspent youth were always recommending pens - but the right sort were prohibitively expensive then!

That's it! I remember trying with an equivalent Staedler pen, but the standard ink didn't appear to be waterproof ...
