Nice looking figures.
I'll be painting up a bunch of Saxons for next year. We've had discussions at my club into doing the 950th anniversary of Hastings using Hail Caesar. So a nice big battle with nice big easy to paint units.
Below is a link to my blog. It's the place where I write uninteresting things about little toy soldiers. I do this because I refuse to grow up and behave like an adult.

I am inches away from jumping on to the dark ages wagon as well at the moment. Only I can't decide wether to go for Vikings (any scandinavian wargamer ought to have at the very least a viking warband, in my opinion), Saxons or Arthurian British (Which would of course be a very much earlier period. But theres some cool minis)

How did you find the Gripping Beast plastics? From the pictures, they look pretty great - You've got some really good results, as these pictures demonstrate! I am thinking of just getting one of the newly launched plastic starters from GB, but something somewhere in my mind is telling me to go for much less affordable metals. Castingroom miniatures (foundry) Saxons look particularly tempting, especially since they have free shipping for the rest of 2015.

Thats a rather longwinded way of asking for your opinion on those plastics :P

Anyways - Always great to see things you paint.

I'm still not convinced about those plastics, but you've made them look very attracive! Great stuff.

I would definitely choose metals over the plastics any day if I had the money or if the project was small like for SAGA.

The plastics are OK but they're still just that, substitutes.

I went for them to get some bulk quickly.

What I was thinking as well.

Seeing as my project would be for saga, I'll go for metals, and just collect them a bit at a time (as if  ::) )

You do make them look great though! It's an impressive host.

To be fair, anything looks impressive when you rank it up in a large group.  lol
