Peninsular War using Rebels and Patriots
« on: 26 April 2020, 08:25:26 PM »
took my slowly expanding Napoleonic collection for a spin  in a small game using Dan Mersey's Rebels and Patriots rules.

Small forces (16 pts a side) and using the first scenario in the book that involves capturing a hill.

Report and lots of eye candy over on the blog:

Interesting game.  I agree R & P is a good general purpose set of "light" rules. We have had a lot of fun with it but not tried it for Naps yet.
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

2019 Painting Challenge :
figures bought: 500+
figures painted: 57
9 vehicles painted
4 terrain pieces scratchbuilt

A nice sized action. I think it is important to get games going once you have enough troops (I am happy to put unpainted down to do that), to help with the collecting and painting motivation and do decide on rules and basing etc early on.

That all seemed to work well and it's a nice looking game too.

With your recruitment drive Vodkafan it will not be long (lock-down allowing)
before you do.

Thank you all.
Yes Norm, getting small forces down was a good idea to maintain interest. I've got all the Redcoats I need (and more) but this has fired me up to finish some more French for a bigger game.
A plan that has been slightly stymied by rain meaning I can't get them undercoated.
