I've seen these from time to time in churches and wondered if they were munition armour, bespoke copies or the real thing ?

That's my stuck on the motorway thought for the day.

Having had fortune to attend talk by Toby Capwell in the summer at Lowick Church, this question came up.
I recall that the majority of them are genuine and one of reasons that the relatively few helms in UK have survived.
