First game with the Perry's Firepower rules
« on: 29 November 2015, 08:17:42 PM »
I have not yet painted up my 28mm plastics from the Perry Battle in a Box set, but I wanted a go of their rules, so I set up a game with my 12mm figures. This link gives a blog entry on initial observations and a rules overview.

Thanks for the write up, these look like a fun and quick set of rules. I have some 28's already so will be interested if they sell these stand alone in the future as
I don't really need an extra 150 + figs to add to my painting queue!  :o

Can you get a set of rules separately, I've plenty of Perry ACW plastics but don't fancy paying a hundred quid for a set of rules!

I don't think they are a separate purchase, but if enough people contact the Perrys and express an interest, then perhaps that may change.

The rules came free in all the ACW plastic boxed sets.  I have a set sitting here.  I could send you my copy if you want them.

I had the impression that the Battle in a Box version were a 2nd edition of sorts and I am not sure whether he earlier rules ever covered artillery.

Anyway, my set has Artillery, superior officers, cavalry evade rules, morale, retreat and rally. If the rules you refer to have them, then they must be pretty much the same.
