6 mmterrain
« on: November 06, 2015, 10:31:17 PM »
I have just picked up 3rd generation warfare and like the rules a lot. I have decided to go fore 6 mm scale, so need lots of new terrain features. Most notably roads and buildings.

Can anyone help me find either a reasonable easy way to make roads (asphalt/concrete)and buildings or someone selling then.

Cheers
Erik

For roads wouldn't fine black or grey sanding paper work? Easy to get and cheap.

Don't use sandpaper - you'll sand the bottom of your minis off lol

http://gcmini.mybigcommerce.com/6mm/ - Allen at Gamecraft has awesome stuff.

Also, N scale train roads are terrific, and come in peel and stick rolls, with options for crossroads etc.

Vinyl floor tiles are a great and cheap alternative will post some photos when I get home
I'm going to need a SWAT team ready to mobilise, street level maps covering all of Florida, a pot of coffee, twelve Jammie Dodgers and a Fez!

How did you go about doing the road markings on the vinyl - I take it mask and spray?

The road markings were done using a fine tipped paint pen available from Hobbycraft stores in the UK. They come in a range of colours I have a yellow one for doing road markings as well.

What sort of tiles were they? I would never have guessed that they were tiles!

They are vinyl floor tiles with an adhesive backing. The tiles are 305mm x 305mm (12" x 12") and sold in packs of 6 or 8. I get mine from Poundland in the UK which sells them in packs of 6. One pack can give you up to 60 feet of roads.
