Looking for suggestions for St George and dragon
« on: 03 January 2016, 10:46:44 AM »
AS it says, I'm looking for a suggestion for a model of St George and the dragon that fits the following conditions:
- The model must have the Saint, his horse and the dragon;
- Dragon needs to be in a defeated position, trampled under foot;
- Scale can be from 28mm to about 50mm;
- It's to be used as a statue so detail level doesn't need to be the same as with figures and stylised look is acceptable;
- It's only going to be used as a statue, so price shouldn't be too high;
- All materials considered (metal, resin, plastic...)

Any ideas?  :)

The horse and rider could be a chess piece.
There was a Historex set (Mokarex) that you can pick up on French flea markets that might suit - all 4 knights were different.

Would fit with a small toy dragon (or even a toy dinosaur or crocodile)
Gary, Glynis, and Alasdair (there are three of us, but we are too mean to have more than one login)

Mirilton old Grenadier do one see: http://www.mirliton.it/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=st+george&osCsid=jvcmnvumrm7pise28fbkchc0r0&x=0&y=0

Has a more classic Medieval feel...

Mirilton also have a sale on much of there fantasy minis at the moment so might be worth looking in general.

Have you tried looking at souvenirs?

The Salute one is still looking as the best bet for the moment, though I was hoping to come up with something that looks a bit more distinct from the figures on the board and more like an actual statue. :)

I'd seen that one, unfortunately the dragon and knight are separate and more diorama material than a combined statue. :)

Yes, that was my initial idea, but haven't found something yet that is in scale and not too expensive.

yeah, just had a look myself. Nice stuff but 100 pounds+ seems a tad excessive for a piece of small terrain.
