Oddball's Sherman in 1:56
« on: March 09, 2016, 11:03:42 PM »
Something I've been working on in 1:56 and still a work in progress.  Waiting for a few more CAD stowage bits to get to me from the printers, then I'll need to convert some crew!

I finally have something to use those decals on we did a few years back...

Yesss, it's coming together.

More progress...and poses with some nice miniatures paint for me by Alex Bews  :D

Only a few more pieces of stowage to add which should be printed and with me this week.  Does anyone have a good method to paint wine bottles?  I may have to do some 28mm wine label decals now..

Wine bottles and labels?

This might help.

By pure chance I saw a clip of Oddball's scenes the other day and I think the loudspeaker was on the other side of the turret, no? Maybe the clip was mirrored.

The speaker switches location several time in the movie.  First scene it's on the right as it needs to be in frame along with the engine, pink shells and extra pipe as Oddball chats about the "Secret Weapons" apart from the engine upgrades.

When I make this a kit, it will have both speakers.  The clean one from the first scene, and the bent one from the later part of the movie!  It has a curved mount cat one, so it works just about anywhere on a round turret.

Just so long as it can play "I've been workin' on the railroad."

Update:  Milk cans came in, so I've added the final pieces of stowage.  The model looks pretty complete!  I just need to add the crates of wine and some more crew in the tank.
