Much better. Did you use the 'Macro' setting on the camera?

I used the macro setting and a tripod. What I still miss is a suitable light.

If you can find the 'White Balance' you may be able to adjust the camera to the kind of light you use - I haven't found this feature on my camera, yet, but the talented photographers all point it out as important  :)

Nice! A bit dark on the photo, but that suits the miniature.

Lets see if our squid-head gallery keeps growing. Any more squid-heads out there? Or any other miniatures you found suitable as Cthulhu priests?

There should be some more people making mindflayer types. Probably should be some in the ad&d prepaints too.

And then there's that octorilla (squidheaded gorilla) from the dreamblade range. very cool model.

This new GW Dark Elf character has some potential too, if you sculpt some robes over the armour:
