As is my usual habit, I've been drawn to a new venture. Actually, in this case, it's an old venture, and old miniatures. Blood Bowl was my lead back in to gaming after the usual hiatus that seems to hit so many during late teens and early twenties, and this is the orc team I wanted aged 12, aged 27, and now I'm actually doing it a few weeks shy of my 27th birthday.

I've made a start with three linesmen (lineorcs?)...

... and three blockers...

There are only three sculpts of the blockers, so I'm after swapping my spare of the one I've already painted twice for that third variant.

Being, thank God, a generally healthy chap, I've really chafed against the migraine-followed-by-slipped-disc that the last four days have brought. Luckily, the only chair in the house that seems to give me the right support is the cheap folding chair... by my painting desk! So the blitzers are now well underway.

More as and when :)

These are looking great - I do love some Blood Bowl! Nice scheme, handled well. Not too much more you can ask for from a team.

Hope you've recovered from the migraine/slipped-disc double whammy. There's not a lot that feels worse than a full-blown migraine.

Thanks for the compliments and the best wishes, chaps :) I think they must be helping as I'm sitting up before painkillers today; please God I've got away with a really short dose of back pain that will just make me more appreciative of my usual lack of discomfort! The downside is I'll be back at work today, so no painting :(

I was there at the birth of both my children - I'm not going to start competing!  lol lol

Great eye-catching scheme! I particularly like the red stripes.

Looking forward to seeing these guys progress :)

Thanks, fella :)

I'm enjoying painting them, and nearly called them the "Red Stripes" after the Jamaican lager! Perhaps that's what their rowdy fans will be drinking....  ::)

After a short pause (filled mainly with some retroclone RPG playing, hobby-wise), I got the first two blitzers done and a troll.

I really loved painting that troll and now want to paint whatever Olley sculpts that are hiding in my leadpile!

There's more on my blog, but here's a group shot of the gang so far:

Very nice work - that red (contrasting with the green as well) really pops.

Love 'em! That troll is wonderful! The red and white scheme - an unusual one, in my mind, for orcs - works really well.

Loving the new recruits, mate.
 :-* :-*

I had pretty much the same figures for my own Orc team back in the 90's.
They were called Will Maul, which probably makes it easy enough to figure out my footie allegiances, eh?
 ;)

As for that Olley troll: The man is a genius and I really love painting his stuff too.

Lovely job on the greenskins. I also have all those figures, but they're unpainted in a box. Seeing your paintjobs makes me want to get some colour on them but they'll have to wait their turn in the never-ending painting a queue.

Thanks everyone, I'm glad they're making a positive impression. After a few diversions over the last couple of weeks I should get a couple of hours with my brushes tomorrow evening and hope to get the other two blitzers done.

Blitzers - cool! Looking forward to them, and, of course, to a team photo when they're all done!
