Good looking table, I like the mat, is this flexible calking, spread on to a material base and painted. It looks good.

I tried this approach but flocked instead of painting but found the flock did not stick down as well as I would have liked so I am thinking of trying again but painting and would be happy if I could achieve your results.

Thanks  ! I use this tutorial:
https://initiativetabletop.com/2013/09/05/to-buy-or-to-build-the-battlemat/

I added at last coat of caulking, parakeet sand (found in any petshop) Why that? The parakeet sand is very fine and there are little piece of shell and ballast. After drying I paint the basecoat with Home latex paint: I went with Dulux Brown Olive. Then the drybrushing I use a mix of americana paints to match the foundry triad sand. and then a final drbrushing with Americana antique white

I will put some flocking around the town area soon.

Thanks for the link, that is pretty much what I did but flocked rather than painted.

Interestingly I think your mat looks better than the tutorial.

I may try and create a road way by impressing wheel tracks in to the caulk when I have another go at this.

It means main Street will always be in the same place but hopefully it will add something extra to the board.

Will we be seeing some AAR's from you?

I think the bird sand and the heavy dry brushing helped a lot.

This sunday we will play a 4 players game . I will try to do a AAR.
