GW Ogre Kingdoms plastics?
« on: 25 September 2016, 01:00:55 AM »
Anyone know if there are figures amongst the GW Ogre Kingdoms plastics range that do not have the huge hole in the belly?

I don't think there's any, I've seen a LOT of conversions that start by filling it.

That is pretty much the standard design around which all GW plastic Ogres are built. Don't think there are any plastics that don't have it.

Right, and the gut plates are all cross-compatible with any of the plastic bodies.  At least all the ones I've seen.

Thanks guys, that is what I feared.
I was hoping to get some sci-fi mutant bodies from them but not really sure I want to get into resculpting figures just to use as a conversion basis.

Will look for other options. Much prefer simple chop and glue modelling.

They're really pretty simple to work into muties, especially if you want belly-maws, extra limbs, or the ever-popular conjoined-twin-in-my-torso thing ala Total Recall.  The big gaping holes are actually a plus in some ways.

GW bashing aside, the interchangeable belly plate and big hole are actually very smart design decisions, saving material and making the kits more customizable.

I agree, they are a very clever design if you want that look. Which obviously is popular given the number of "copy cat" boutique ogre minis that are around. Not an individual or unique concept among them just straight clones of the GW idea (at vastly inflated prices)

I am looking at things like golems as an alternate conversion base.
