How should I paint my Indians?

I got the Woodland Indians War Party box set from Warlord games 1754-1763-woodland-indians-war-party-boxed-set
I want to paint them to be able to use them for French and British so how could I paint them so they look generically for either side?

Like the box art will do fine.

Shirts are mostly linen in various degrees of wear and dirt. Calico is also plausible. Breechclouts are trade cloth, wool blanket cloth in shades of mostly red, blue, grey, often with a selvage stripe, sometimes painted. Moccasins various shades of leather. Leggings either leather or trade cloth. Nothing got washed very often. Various amounts of face and body paint, mostly black = death, red = blood, other colors possible. Do what you like, they did.

Great suggestions! Here's my not-so-secret source. Do a Google Image search for Robert Griffing, maybe inserting various things like Native American or Indians. Here is the book that I bought at Fort Meigs that is my bible for painting Eastern Woodlands Indians:
