Serial Hobbyist New to Frostgrave
« on: 18 January 2017, 04:41:42 PM »
I am so new to Frostgrave that my books are still in the post.

A good friend suggested I take a look, and all the reviews and information I found indicated it would be a good match for my gaming style: small scale, skirmish, with lots of opportunity to customize.

...and an opportunity both to make some cool, themed terrain, and to kitbash some custom figures!

I'm looking forward to getting to know the game and the community you've got here!

Welcome.  I'm pretty new to Frostgrave myself, having just discovered it around Halloween.  There's a good active community here.

Welcome to the forum!

The chance to make imaginative wintery terrain (something I'd never done before) and paint up a cool array of different types of figures, both conversions and off-the-shelf, was a big part of the appeal for me.
The fact that the rules are some of the best I've played for being fun, and for constantly new tactical challenges, is just icing on the cake!  :D

I am also somewhat new learning about Frostgrave with my two core rulebooks in the mail and a handful of terrain on the way. I like building some of the accessory terrain myself. There is like a 90% chancing I am moving 5 hours away so I am kind of on the fence whether I want to try and get my current gaming group involved at this stage. The new city I am moving to is like eight times bigger so there should be more of a Frostgrave scene there.

I used to really be into Dungeon Command and building custom Warbands in that system but it wasn't that popular outside the one friend I had that played. After discovering Bloodbowl this year on Xbox One (and now in plastic) this seems like the perfect game for me. I still intend to have some Blood Bowl and Frostgrave character cross over because... well why not?

I found out about Frostgrave from Joel at Drive Thru Review. That was an excellent introduction and I have really enjoyed using the online Frostgrave Warband Manager lately.
