The Road to Varitas de Merluza
« on: 09 February 2017, 05:13:01 PM »
With the French success at Camino Cerrado, Captain Fondler's Light Company have their work cut out to keep the screen covering the army intact.  As the French advance down the road towards Varitas de Merluza, Fondler and his men take their positions in the rolling farmland of North Western Spain.

You can read about the game in full on Lard Island News as we fight our second campaign battle using Sharp Practice and Dawns & Departures.

Great storytelling on the blog, Rich.  Our group are currently having fun with the same campaign ( SP2 in the Peninsula).

I saw your Spanish figures.  Absolutely beautiful.

Glad you're having fun.  We are finding the campaign makes a huge difference to the way people enjoy the narrative.  As umpire it is really intersting to see the decisions being made and opportunities taken or lost.

Are you using the full campaign, with the map movement!

Yes the whole shibang one of the guys , Jeremy Dowd, has agreed to play umpire .its interesting how  the fog of war can affect your decision making.  We,re playing a 6 hander , that's 3 a side , next Tuesday night . Great fun.

Varitas de Merluza? Seriously?

I have to play a follow-up of Lepanto in which the Holly League attacks the port of Durum before pressing into the city of Kebab.

Vartitas de Merluza is a beautiful town, full of ancient architecture and a Roman bridge across the Merluza River.   ;)
