Yesterday, we were able to try Rogue Stars for the first time!

The scenario we chose was "Make it to the Ship Alive". The victory conditions are simple: The attacker’s goal is to take his figures into the ship, without leaving anyone behind (3XP per figure saved, and 5XP if all of his squad makes it to the ship). The defender scores 3XP for each enemy OOA (Out of Action) or left on the table when (if) the ship leaves.

At the end of the game, the smugglers were unable to achieve their victory condition with 3 OOA, so victory went to the robots!

I like the atmospheric lighting, very cool.
a mixture of quick parts, sarcastic humour, reserve, and caprice.

Nice layout, but I think you could increase the vegetation and buildings to give enough cover to give the smugglers a realistic chance of escape. Did you have any critical failures or critical successes with your dice rolls? We have found that those events give the most fun and often tip the balance in a game.
I will be very interested to see how this works as a convention game, good luck!
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

So true. We definitively need more cover (vegetation, ruins, oil drums, ...). I received yesterday two other buildings from Miniature Scenery. Concerning any critical failures or successes, we rolled few 1 or 20, and it gives lot of fun. Thanks again for your comments and suggestions!

That's some really open firing lanes.  It's no surprise that the robots won.

This game is kinda like Infinity.  You REALLY need a lot of cover and terrain to prevent reaction fire from murdering every time someone does anything.

As we found out in our own Make it the Ship Alive game yesterday, Jump packs and prone riflemen on the top of a cliff make a world of difference.
You, sir, are not allowed to attempt a takeover of the solar system until your octopus sobers up.

I do like that about RS, you have to think about cover and whether it is worth the risk to make a run for it or stay put and do something else.

Here are the 4 teams for the Convention, all finished:

And few more pictures of buildings ...

We had an other playtest this week-end. We added more cover and terrain to break the lines and this time, the robots lost the game :)

Thanks for your comments! We are ready! Nous sommes prêts!
