I am back painting Epic Punic War miniatures.
At the weekend I painted two bases of Carthaginian Elephants.

I have made a short YouTube video with a step by step painting guide : https://youtu.be/HjnKX8roj9I?si=0AJueECa_2Aozcbr

Thanks, I'm loving this range.
I've just worked out the gaps I need in the two sides to kick of my Hannibal campaign with the crossing of the Rhone. This includes another 26 bases of Celt Infantry. I'm doing an unboxing video for the Celts tomorrow and then cracking on with the painting!

I've just put together a first look / unboxing video, taking a peek inside the Epic Scale Celt Army box!

Thanks Chris, I was going to ask whether the crew were glued in first and then painted or painted first and then glued …… the video answered that!  They look great all based up.

The inboxing is interesting, that booklet is the best ‘in box’ support that I have seen for Epic - nice touch. They at least make sure that you know what is what on the sprue ….. something they have not always done in the past!

Thanks Norm, glad you like what I'm doing. The elephant crew figures are, I think the only figures ever that I have painted on the sprue, but it does make it a lot easier to pick them up and hold them while painting and a lot more accessible than if you glued them in first.

How is your epic project going? Have you painted your set up yet?

No - it is still in the queue … worse, Epic Revolution has since been bought. On the painting sticks today I have Epic Prussian musketeers, so the brush is busy, but Hannibal waits patiently …… however, I have cut enough figures from the sprues to do the Trebbia Scenario.

i am just working out how I want to base them and have temporarily attached to bases with a jelly type glue stuff (the sort of sticky putty that keeps freebies on the front of magazines). I am okay with gaming with the raw plastic while things get painted. I might take a break from napoleonics and do those elephants next - they do look lovely.

I am probably going to do my warband on a 60mm deep base, with a few chopped up, so that they are not in neat ranks. Two bases side by side can be the unit. I got a freebie sprue off one of the magazines recently and it had the chariot on it, so I am trying to work out how I can do a warband with the chariot embedded within the warband base, just for a visual difference.
