Cool Jon!

That's the exact source material that made me want to build one....a second one in fact :D

I've got a massive grin on my dial, knowing that I'm not the only one who loves the old material ;)

Cheers mate.

It's unbelievable. Seeing step 1 and seeing the final result is a boom to the head. Big bravo!

Cheers Suber :D

The oil paint weathering technique changes the appearance quite drastically.

Glad you like the finished piece mate ;)

Another project on the slab. I'm turning a toy gun into a spaceship.

Still got a bit more to go, but it's coming along.

Cheers fellas :D

The spaceship is coming along well but I would strongly suggest covering the handle completely. It is a 'defining' part of the gun and until it disappears it will be very difficult for your spaceship to stop looking like a gun.

I disagree, I think once I've painted it up as a viewing port, along with all of the other details, it'll blend in nicely with the rest of the spaceship. Time will tell though huh :)

Looking good Mr.P.
It will look better once painted up for sure.
Can I suggest you do a card bridge with cut out windows so as to have a 3D effect ?

Well Mr.P
Someone said that the stock stands out. What if you build a crew bridge out of card with cut out windows & stick it on to hide its general shape. You can even put leds & a battery inside or even build the internal bridge with consoles & minis.

Oh ok, now I get you ;)

That would look great, but sounds like too much work for this lazy kitbasher :D

When it's finished and all painted up, and if it looks like shite, then yeah I'll consider doing a fix :)

Cheers mate.

Just do a thin card mock up & see how that looks Mr.P.
Then decide.
You would think twice before repainting it once it's painted up .
I would at least

The thing is, is that I've already made a frame for the cardboard to sit up against. It'd take too much work to modify it now that the two halves are together and covered up. Fuck it, it's gunna have the window, I like it the way it is anyway :D

Thanks for the tips though mate, always up for it  ;)

Just as long as you don't see the hot glue. That stuff looks terrible, no matter how good you are at applying it lol

Thanks Suber, I'm glad your liking it :)
